National Academy of Veterinary Sciences (NAVS), India conferred Dr. Mrigank Honparkhe, Principal Scientist-cum-Head, Department of Veterinary Gynecology and Obstetrics, Dr. Nitin Mehta, Associate Professor, Department of Livestock Products and Technology and Dr. Y.S. Jadoun, Assistant Professor, Department of Veterinary and Animal Husbandry Extension Education with prestigious Membership Award of NAVS.
The awards were conferred during 20th Convocation-cum- Scientific Convention of NAVS on Restructuring Veterinary Education, Research and Extension for Enhancing Livestock and Poultry Production to Boost the GDP” at Nagpur Veterinary College of Maharashtra Animal and Fisheries Sciences University (MAFSU), Nagpur (Maharashtra).
Dr. Honparkhe was honored on the basis of excellence and significant contributions in teaching, research and extension work in the field of veterinary science. Dr. Honparkhe has been actively involved in teaching research and extension activities for the last 20 years. He has handled extramural research projects funded by UGC, ICAR, DBT, DST, RKVY and Elanco as PI/Co-PI. Due to his contribution in research, he has been bestowed with Best young scientist, Nils Lagerlof Memorial, ‘Dr N C Sharma Memorial awards. He is a recipient of International Travel Support Grant (ITS) by DST, New Delhi to attend World Buffalo Congress in 2019 held in Turkey. He has published 29 international, >100 national research articles and >40 clinical articles in reputed journals.
Dr. Mehta was honored on the basis of excellence and significant contributions in teaching, research and extension work in the field of veterinary science. Dr. Mehta is currently working as Associate Professor, Department of Livestock Products Technology, COVS, GADVASU, Ludhiana, Punjab. He has been actively involved in teaching, research and extension activities for the last 10 years. He was bestowed with Best Teacher Award (Pre- clinical and Production subjects), College of Veterinary Science for 2017-18 and Best Researcher Award, College of Veterinary Science for 2018-19 by GADVASU, Ludhiana. He has been involved in transfer of seven technologies for various value-added meat and egg products to entrepreneurs as lead and associated scientist.
Dr. Jadoun was honored on the basis of excellence and significant contributions in teaching, research and extension work in the field of veterinary science. He has published; 45 research papers, 15 chapters in a book/compendium, 65 extension articles/folders/bulletins ,13 edited training and teaching manuals, presented 30 research papers/invited lectures/ lead lectures in seminars/conferences, and got 06 best oral and poster presentation awards. Presently he is PI (Farmer FIRST Project, ICAR) and CoPI in one externally funded project. He has awarded with “Young Scientist Awards”, Best Research Paper Award, “Innovative Extension Educationist Award”, “Excellence in Extension Award, “Young Achiever Award”, “Scientist of the Year Award” and actively engaged in organization of training programs, Pashu Palan Melas and Kisan Melas etc,.
Dr. Inderjeet Singh, Vice-Chancellor of the university congratulated and appreciated the efforts and meritorious work of faculty members in the field of veterinary Sciences.
